Since the release of my blog about Stan’s heart attack, he has been receiving so many messages of ‘get well soon.’
We’ve had visitors call in to see how he is, incredulous that our class-clown had such a near scrape with eternity.
It’s my fault.
I’m sorry, I should have put the date in – September 2015 – three weeks after he retired.
Of course, there have been the usual Stan’isms flowing out of his mouth, even while he has lapped up the attention. Stan has never been one to shy away from attention.
Somehow though, your concern has given him some energy, and now the gardens are being tidied, trellis fixed and BEST OF ALL he’s started making my replica Art Deco Tea Trolley – just like the one in the picture.
He’s a craftsman is my husband. He is making the hoops which hold the trays, by laminating cedar strips together, and making the trays from Mahogany he rescued from a dresser someone was throwing out.
The tea trolley will sit next to my art deco china cabinet, and it will host my art deco cups and saucers, my silver teapot, and I will be able to play ladies when you come to visit.
So once again – Stan is fine. But if you want to send him a message – he would LOVE IT. (You may even get a Stan’ism out of him – just for you).
