"Early I will seek you" - Psalm 63:1

Are you like me? Are you curious and interested in life?

I thought I’d give you a walk through a typical day for me.

The early mornings are the BEST!

I’m the only one awake – Himself is still snoring.

The house is quiet, and as I open the curtains in the lounge room, I am often greeted by the most glorious sunrises. My four-legged cat friends demand to be fed, so while I’m still yawning, I pour their breakfast food into their bowls, put the kettle on to boil and dangle my early morning herbal tea bag in my cup - only a bone-china teacup and saucer thank you!

In the quiet of the morning, I pick my Bible up and read. Often I will only read one verse, and then muse on that verse for the rest of the day. Father God and I sit and watch His magnificent display as the sun comes over the horizon.

By now, Mr Polar Monkey is yowling to be let into the bedroom. His morning ritual. He will run down the hallway to our bedroom and leap on top of Stan demanding he get out of bed. Then follows the same procedure. Cat gets into the bed, and out of the bed. On top of Stan's head, back into the bed and repeat procedure, until finally Stan gets up.

Now, our breakfast is usually toast. But not just any toast.

Stan makes all our bread. We seldom buy bread now. After his wonderful, whole grain with many seeds bread, bought bread tastes empty. Our homemade bread is lavished with any number of spreads – again, homemade. And of course, coffee. Gotta have coffee!

Breakfast is leisurely, and if it’s fine, we will sit on the front deck where we can chat with anyone walking past. It’s during this time together that we will often pray, discuss what the Lord has shown us, maybe take communion. Is this what the Garden of Eden was like? Complete peace.

Finally having done my chores, I am free to go into my office. Read your emails and respond, maybe you’ve commented on something on my Instagram, or Facebook posts. And then open the manuscript of my latest book to continue writing. Sometimes the writing flows. And sometimes it doesn’t, in which case I will mull over the paragraph I’m working on and play a mindless game of solitaire, allowing my brain to process. So what am I writing now?

You are going to love it. Announcement will be made on…. – hmm, or maybe I’ll leave you wondering?
