Someone asked me a question about my book A STONE IN MY SANDAL, and the question kept me awake last night, because it was a really good question.
“What is it about A STONE IN MY SANDAL that is so special, so important?”
Well, apart from the fact I wrote it. Does that make it important?
Tongue in cheek for me with my great sense of humour.
But just what is it that is so different to all the other books about Moses?
When I started writing the second book in the I Am Beryl series, I thought it would be easy, after all, who doesn’t know about Moses and the journey he took three million people on? After all, most of us went to Sunday School when we were young or have been to see the Disney movie Prince of Egypt.
Oh, how wrong I was!
For as I dug into the history of the time-period when Moses was alive, the sounds, the aroma of the spice souks, the traditions and just the fascination of ancient Egypt sent me digging for more. Must of what the people of that day, and even 2000 years ago would have understood, we have never known. The fascination of the culture and the meanings of so much hinted at in the books of Moses, came alive. Camel races, palace etiquette. And then as if that wasn’t enough, the spirit realm opened up. What a privilege to be able to understand the nuances of what happened back then.
Moses lived c.1440 BC and he is mentioned in ancient Egyptian literature. It is thought that Ramses II was the Pharaoh of the time. How interesting that someone Moses grew up with, could turn against him so much. What we do know for sure is the intimate relationship Moses had with Almighty God. There is such holiness and righteousness portrayed in his life. This book brings a unique perspective and insight and revelation of the spirit realm.
Wouldn’t you love to spend some time with Moses?
